UnCruise Reviews

When we started QuirkyCruise.com seven years ago, it was to share what we knew about the small-ship cruising niche.
We wanted to tell others who enjoy the style of traveling we like — without the crowds on unusual itineraries to beautiful often remote places — about the off-the-radar travel companies that we love.
BOOK UNCRUISE: Check out the special offers UnCruise has up its nautical sleeve.
UnCruise Adventures is one of those companies that inspired us to create QuirkyCruise.com. Run by the passionate and knowledgeable captain Dan Blanchard, as CEO and founder, Dan has nurtured and built a fleet of nine 22- to 86-passenger ships, each one unique, but all with the same aim — adventure, comfort and community.
On an UnCruise adventure, an almost instant and indelible bond develops between fellow passengers, crew and the natural bounty of the destinations visited.
RELATED: Captain Dan tells us why he loves small-ship cruising.
The UnCruise fleet of cozy ships takes intrepid, fun-loving, adventurous travelers to some of the world’s most beautiful natural places that are best seen by small ships, from the remote corners of Alaska’s Inside Passage to the spectacular landscape of the Sea of Cortez, the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands and the fascinating Galapagos Islands.
What’s Included in an UnCruise Adventure
- All meals & snacks
- Drinks — beer, wines, spirits & soft drinks
- Excursions — from kayaking to hiking
- Adventure gear — use of watersports equipment
- Transfers between airport and ships
Taking Your Adventure Order
Each evening of an UnCruise, the expedition team present the options for the following day and then “take your adventure order” based on what floats your boat in terms of interest and activity level.
The menu of activity options offered — kayaking, hiking, paddle boarding, skiff excursions, snorkeling and/or beach walks — will be prepared daily by the guides in consideration of the location and forecasted conditions for that day.

UnCruise says it best: “We’re all in the same boat. Crew and guests alike, wide-eyed with wonder and childlike curiosity — and it shows. The excitement. Laughs. Collective energy. Tugs on the heartstrings throughout your adventure.”
