REVIEW

This was my first time on a river cruise and my first time in Assam and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. It turned out to be an amazing experience.

The Brahmaputra in its avatar in the flood plains of Assam is an extraordinary river. In December the river is calm and stretches for miles in either direction punctuated by sandbanks — seasonal and permanent. There was mist over the river in the early morning and incredible sunsets in evening. Altogether beautiful and awe inspiring.

The boat sleeps 24 in 12 well-appointed and comfortable cabins and the food was good and offered considerable variety. The two naturalists on the boat were passionate about what they did and extremely knowledgeable. The evening talks in the lounge were informative and interesting.

For me, the highlight was the top deck which was perfect for “fireside” (no fire of course!) gatherings and offered a 360-degree view. The boat was very well managed and the crew was exceptional taking care of our every need.

I have been recommending the experience to everyone I meet!
