Have you been on a small ship cruise before? Yes, 2.

Review: A great way to see islands of Thailand in an intimate and unique setting.

We tendered to our sailing ship in Patong Bay, Thailand, and climbed aboard a true sailing ship that took us to wonderful islands in the Andaman Sea off Thailand (and one island in Malaysia).  Every night the sails were raised in a ceremony and the winds took us to another idyllic island.

The staff was attentive and truly wanted to make all feel welcome and at ease.  The rooms were well appointed — of course they are not huge, but they were comfortable!

For such a small galley, the food was wonderful and service was superb.  There were many choices for all palates and they displayed the 5 entree choices before dinner near the bar each evening (so you could visibly see what you could order that night for dinner).

The passengers were an interesting mix of Germans, Australians, Canadians, and English with just 7 Americans, which made for a more international experience.  The passengers were more of an “active” group as many of the landings were wet landings where you had to climb off a dinghy or tender to get to shore.  The beach BBQ day was really a nice touch!

Many of the stops were at national parks, where sometimes it could get more crowded than expected, but our shore times were long enough that the other day tours would leave and peace would return.

I highly recommend!
