Le Boat French Canal Cruise Reader Review
Our two-week Le Boat charter on the Nivernais Canal was deeply disappointing. The canal itself is beautiful and the local staff were kind — but the boat Le Boat provided was unacceptable for a paid holiday.
The vessel was 26 years old, visibly worn, and suffered multiple mechanical breakdowns. The shade was inadequate, and the climate control system completely failed during a dangerous heat wave. Le Boat was unable to repair it, forcing us to end our trip early.
The UK head office acknowledged the failures but offered no meaningful solution, stating only that the boat met their standards.
The canal experience was wonderful, but Le Boat did not deliver a safe or reliable charter. Riverly boats we saw along the route looked far better maintained.
