Kerala Houseboat Cruise Cruise Review
This cruise is all about relaxation and indulgence. We spent two nights on this beautiful four-passenger houseboat which has two large luxury cabins. The first night we were the only passengers. The bed was large and very comfortable, there was plenty of storage and a very large bathroom. There was a small private veranda. The air conditioner runs overnight only.
The main deck has a large airy lounge which incorporates the wheelhouse. The top deck is open and has loungers and 2 dining tables.
The dining experience was the highlight of this cruise for us, the food and service were exceptional. With breakfast, lunch, high-tea, and dinner, all with many courses, we were never hungry.
They serve alcohol, but don’t make our mistake of ordering beer at lunchtime, the fridge is only switched on in the evening.
Dinner under the stars was magical. They were keen to serve lunch on the top deck too, but that’s a recipe for heatstroke!
There were some short activities, a visit to a coir factory, a tuk-tuk ride to a huge monkey god statue and sunset walks to the beach. This trip is light on activities, but relaxing on the boat and watching life on the water and at the water’s edge is what it’s all about. We didn’t cover a great distance, but it didn’t really matter for such a short cruise.
Decoratively, the boat was a bit tired, but still very luxurious.
The crew was very attentive, they achieved the balance of attending your needs without being overbearing. We enjoyed the opportunity to relax after a busy trip.
