Opera star Anna Maria Kaufmann sang on Crystal River Cruises‘ newly delivered CRYSTAL BACH at christening festivities in Rüdesheim, Germany, on Aug. 20.

“It is an honor to have one of Germany’s most gifted and cherished talents christen CRYSTAL BACH as she officially embarks on the Rhine as part of the award-winning Crystal fleet,” CEO and President Edie Rodriguez said.

Kaufmann has a decades-long career spanning the globe that took her from her hometown of Edmonton, Alberta, to some of the world’s most prestigious stages and events.

Considering the vessel's name, she is a perfect choice for the godmother, and performed Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Air” at the christening ceremony.

CRYSTAL BACH embarked on its maiden voyage from Amsterdam Aug. 13.
